Block Image

my display ‘solerizes’ at odd times - to ‘fix’ it - I either close and open the lid or reset the display refresh to another rate but neither is a permanent fix.

Hi @bbypete128 ,

To add to the answer above, here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop.

Go to p.76 to view the display assembly removal procedure.

This shows where the LVDS/webcam cable passes through the hinge to get from the motherboard to the display panel and webcam in the lid.

It is one place that the cable can get damaged as you said that it changes when moving the lid.

If the cable is damaged on p.26 (Item #6) you will find the part numbers for the cable.

Search online using the part number only in the search term to get results for suppliers.

Hi @bbypete128

Some things you can try, I have a feeling the LVDS cable might be degrading or getting loose, I had encountered this weird issues on several laptops I worked with.

If it is under warranty, send in for repairs.

Else what I will try is to reseat the LVDS cable from the mainboard to the LCD Panel.

In most case it will fix the issues.

To confirm your graphic card is going well,

Here are some steps I will also do,

1. Update Graphic card drivers

2. test out with external display.
