I’m wondering if there’s a short somewhere. I had an X in recently where it would draw .44a then drop to .01a and cycle back and forth every few seconds. Maybe send it off to iPad Rehab or STS Telecom?

If you want to repair it yourself do you have access schematics? Try getting an account to zxy it's 64 dollars a year. You will need a multi meter, a microscope, most likely a hot air machine, a soldering iron, you will also need the higher to split and reattach the board (it's a split board and has contacts around the outside of the board). I would recommend buy some iCloud locked phones to practice on and watch a lot of videos on YouTube from jessa at ipad rehab ipadrehab.com and Jason at sts telecom ststelecom.com I hope this information helps. I would look at what it takes to repair a board on iPhone x,xs, xs max,xr they basically use the same board you will get the idea what it takes to do it.
