dyson dc28 vacuum shuts off by itself due to overheating (I believe)

After about 10 minutes of running the vacuum from a "cold"/off state the vacuum will turn off and. Need to cool and be reset (unplugged and replugged in) before working. I bought it cheap on craigslist and have taken it apart and thoroughly cleaned all parts so it's not a clog causing the issue. I believe it must be an overheating because of the motor but don't even know how to get to it. Any help/advice is super!
