PowerBook works on power, but neither battery charges?

PowerBook sat unused for many months and both batteries I have discharged. Initially one battery charged fully but discharged and didn't come back. Other battery won't charge either. Shows o% charge. Light glows amber as if to show charging. As I have two batteries each about 3 years old I tend to think it isn't the batteries. PowerBook works fine while plugged in to power. Thanks for any help you can give.

Before spending money, Google Coconut Battery -- it's a free download and a great battery diagnostic tool, and it will give you a good indication as to whether the batteries or the computer are the problem.

If you do need a new battery, here's an inexpensive one:

Have you bought and used any of these batteries? I'd like to know since they are half what these cost. I wrote Battery-Biz (who I've bought from for years) last week and asked them what the difference was between their batteries and the cheap ones. This was their response: "Our battery meets or exceeds manufactures specifications! All of our batteries comes with a 30 day money back and 1 year replacement warranty."

I'm going to guess it's the batteries themselves, even if they are two different batteries, simply storing them in the right environment will make them both go kaput. Unfortunately, it may be difficult for you to find a battery for this computer, but search and you may find one fairly cheap.

Great to see some german writing here - just for education: it is spelled kaputt ;-)

Haha I'll keep that in mind

Hey, just to let you all know, I've used BatteryEdge.com and found it a less expensive, but useful battery. =)
