late 2009 27" iMac CPU upgrade

i recently received an iMac from a friend that no longer needed it. I am going to use it as my main computer as i put an ssd in it and it’s pretty fast. I am willing to put an intel core i7-860. on ifixit it is saying this it is compatible with my system would this work or will i have issues? I am fully capable of doing this myself btw .Specs of the iMac at the moment here:

iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)

Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB

There are a few minor differences in the logic board besides the CPU. I would recommend just replacing the full logic board with CPU. Here’s one option: iMac 27" 2.8GHz Core i7 Logic Board
