extraction and installation of glass camera protector back housing

I have ordered a new back housing for my iPhone 3G. How do take out/put back in the glass that covers the camera with the round silver bezel out of the old back housing into the new one?

it's only stuck on with a bit of double sided adhesive...put your spudger or fingernail under an edge of the part majesty has shown and pull upwards(easily taken off) The metal ring is separate to the glass cover and you'll need to lift that out after..quite flimsy so just go easy. The adhesive on the camera cover is quite sticky and can be reused. the camera cover has 2 small holes in it that line up with 2 plastic knobs on the back cover.just remember to put the silver ring in first!

Step #24 of this Guide shows that the glass is part of a black-plastic assembly which you have to remove as a unit.

Is the adhesive that holds the battery reusable as well? If not what should I use to replace it?

you don't really need it.. the motherboard sits on it nice and tight, and its hemmed in by all the other parts. some batteries come with adhesive. you could use double sided tape to be safe.
