Why would my iPhone not charge?

my iphone 4 was working perfect yestarday morning. i charged it and it was fine. then later on at night i run out of battery and when i got home and try to charge it again. nothing happened

Battery is bad. Charger is bad. USB cable is bad. Clean iPhone dock port with a clean dry toothbrush. Try to charge. If nothing, clean dock port with a bit of Isopropyll Alcohol, either using toothbrush again, or with lint free cloth. Especially clean the pins which are on top of the dock mid rib. Try charging it again. Keep charging and try Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts, usually less than 20 seconds.
