Ringer won’t doesn’t work and won’t stay in place

I had my phone in my pocket during work and when I took it out at the end of the day it wouldn’t stay in place, ever time I try to turn the ringer on it won’t work and will just slide back across

Options

Sometimes dirt and debris can get lodged in the switch. You can take a toothpick to clean out junk in the mute switch and that should fix your issue.

I have tried that but it has not fixed my problem

Then the next thing to do would be to replace the mute switch assembly, which involves tearing down the whole phone and replacing the mute, volume, flash, and power button assembly.
