Can I use lithium ion battery soldered to pins

Switching out batteries last night and I one caught fire. Long story. I cannot order parts at this time so I have a iPhone se and a 2000mah battery that isnt a replacement battery but it will fit in the phone. I’m wondering if it’s possible to solder wires directly to the battery connector and use it to power the phone.

Short answer: Yes, it is possible. There are cables for testing iPhones that literally just hook power and ground to the connector. However, the battery does have ICs in it that communicate with the phone about things like battery percentage. Because of this, I would say your best bet if the phone is to be used long term would be to try and desolder the circuit from the exploded battery and connect it to the working one. Then it can be connected like normal.

Also, the phone will reboot every couple of minutes if you do not include the battery data (ie power and ground only)
