iMac Intel 27 End 2009 Upgrade the drive to SSD?

Is it a good idea to upgrade the drive to a SSD?

because it is near 2 years old ...

if so, what do i need to make it on my own?

do you have this parts? what SSD would you prefer?

Yes, but it will run at SATA II speeds. When it comes to the 2.5->3.5" adapter, these are common and easy to find. You can find these from places like Newegg and Amazon.

When you attach the temperature sensor, it needs to be attached to the SSD; not the 2.5->3.5" adapter. Your iMac uses a digital temperature sensor, so you will need to match the drive brand or use a 3rd party sensor like the one sold by OWC.
