While this guide is for a different model it outlines the risks of leaving your system wet internally MacBook water damage diagnostic

Basically its a matter of disconnecting your power so you don’t engage electrolysis ASAP! Then you need to get the water out as soon as possible! That will require opening your system quite extensively. This assumes you have the needed tools and supplies. It might be better locating someone local to you who can help you.

Thank you!

I do have the tools, and I read that I need to turn of the auto-boot in the terminal, so my next question is if it is ok to start the computer and do that? Or just open the computer?

really appreciate your help, thank you

kind regards, Pia

Your system is a bit different than the older systems which really had the system fully off when you shut the system down. Your system has one eye still open! So its still draining power even if its off this the issue you need to run the terminal command to fully shut the system off. Disconnecting the battery before you do this can corrupt your systems storage. It depends on what you had open when you turned the system off or if its just in sleep.

So yes you need to run the command if you can, if you can't then you have no choice! Disconnect the battery.
