simple answer is yes, if you are sure that it isn't a loose connection, dirt or damage. I'd try a hard reset..press home and power together for 10 seconds, the apple should appear then allow to reboot...far cheaper and usually works. The other thing to try if this has happened after you have opened the phone is to take the motherboard back off the battery for an hour or 2 then replace. New LCD is the last resort .

i guess it is because of the water because i gave it to my dad and when i got it back there was some drops of water on the iphone

and i even took out the motherboard to see if there was a 6r8 coil so i guess i did the two options so i have no choice but to buy a new LCD.

I'd still try a reset.. Did you think maybe it's a power problem? Is there signs water was inside phone? The first thing to stop working is battery/dock, LCD is usually ok once you've cleaned the connections

every thing works fine only the backlight

by

i did the reset by pressing the home and power button and the apple logo appeared but it did all that without a backlight
