Parts of screen unresponsive after repair

I smashed the screen of my iPad Mini 2 a few years ago, the damage was minor but I chose to get it repaired professionally. The screen works for the most part but certain areas such as the top right hand corner and individual keys on the onscreen keyboard on landscape mode are unresponsive.

I have not damaged the replacement screen in any way, so what could be causing this issue considering most of the screen works perfectly. It’s frustrating because the device still works pretty well given it is almost 7 years old, but it is annoying having to turn the iPad around to use certain functions.

Answer this question I have this problem too

@boymetworld91 this “it is annoying having to turn the iPad around to use certain functions. “ is a clear indication that the issue is your digitizer. It is really not uncommon to get some that are damaged even prior to installing. Replace the digitizer once more then re-evaluate.

What is a regular cost to do this, the iPad is 7 years old and having replaced it once I don't want to spend big bucks again if investing in a new iPad would make more sense.

Before trying another digitizer there are two things to check.

Inspect the screen connector for the digitizer on the logic board. The pins in that connector can come off quite easily when unplugging it.

The way to avoid pins popping off is to pull disconnect from the corner of the connector only with a nail.

If there is indeed a missing pin it'll need to be replaced by someone that does microsoldering.

Also just in case if there is no yellow tape at the bottom border of the digitizer behind make sure to apply that to avoid any EMI interference with the home button cable and housing of the iPad.
