Unable to activate iPhone 7

Hi, Ive been given an iphone 7 and, since trying to start a fresh with the phone, im presented with a “unable to activate” error message.

I have tried entering into recovery mode to update or restore, both unsuccessful.

I then went into the Apple store and was told it probably because ive a aftermarket screen fitted and sent on my way?

Any ideas ?

Regards,

Michael

For some reason, ive switched it on today and its managed to update to 13.3.1, which it wouldnt do before.

Not sure this is of any relevance , but thought id mention anyway.

This will have nothing to do with the screen. It is more likely a baseband CPU problem created from an audio IC repair. Was the phone able to connect to a cellular network before you restored it?

I didnt think it would be the screen either and had the feeling i was being fobbed off.

Yes, the phone was working fine until i erased things and updated it.

At the HELLO screen when you press the circle with the i, does it show your imei nr# ?

Hi, no it doesnt give me the IMEI number. It gives me one number. I dont have the phone to hand and cant think which number this is?

Because there is no imei nr i think that your baseband ic is faulty.

Sounds like its above my skills to fix then .
