Screen keeps shutting on and off, after water damage.

My screen keeps shutting on and off (but doesn't actually turn the iPod completely off). When I press the top button of the iPod to wake it, it comes to the slide screen and I slide the bar and then I get the home screen and everything's fine, and all of a sudden my screen goes blank, and I press the top button of the iPod to wake it again and it works and I slide it and this keeps happening.. sometimes it does it every 2 seconds, sometimes every 2 minutes.

What would you suggest repairing?
