I unfortunately stepped (ever so slightly) on my asus Q304UAK while it was on the floor of my daughter’s dark bedroom tonight :(. The LCD works fine, but the touch screen is not responding and I have cracks running in front of the LCD on the screen. What can I do and how much should it cost?

Hi,
If the laptop is working OK except for the touchscreen, you should be able to replace just the touchscreen (digitizer) to get it working again.
Here’s a link to a supplier. It is shown just to give an idea of the cost and what to check to see if your model variant is compatible with the replacement part. You may find other suppliers online that suit you better. Just search for Asus Q304UA digitizer screen to get results.
I couldn’t find a screen replacement procedure for your particular laptop model but here’s a link to a video, that shows how to replace the screen in an Asus Q302LA which may be of some help. At least enough to give you a general idea of what is involved.

I recommend you replace the whole screen assembly (LCD Glass Digitizer) as one unit. Best to get a used original part if possible. Check out this link to some options.
Unfortunately I don’t have any specific guides on this repair, but it will be similar to a lot of other ASUS screen assembly replacements which can be found on Youtube.
