I bought an Asus laptop 1.5 years ago. Intel i3 8th Gen procesor, 4GB ram, 2GB Intel 920MX Graphics and all that was a total waste of money. It hangs all time and takes a lot of time to boot up(since the time i bought - But now its terrible). All its disk have a less space used.

Is it a good idea to format it?

Should i prefer RAM Upgrade? Which is better??

with Asus i can say i have had the same issues But i say there is a fix if you Just Know How to apply that. Lets Give it a Try -

  • Uninstall Any Non essentials software from your computer.
  • Remove asus GiftBox That may install Ton of software by tricking you saying yes to all
  • Check Your task manager & REMOVE/STOP any Unwanted program From Startup that may have high impact on your system startup

* Open Start Menu and find the Control Panel. Click on it.

  • Here in the Control Panel, go to the Search field at the top-right of the window and type Performance. Now hit Enter.
  • Now find Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
  • Go to the Advanced tab and click on Change in the Virtual Memory section.
  • Now untick the option “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.”
  • Select the default C: drive where Windows 10 is installed and then choose Custom Size. Then change Initial Size and Maximum Size to the recommended values by Windows 10 (given below).

  • restart the computer & check the performance
  • Update Your Antivirus Software
  • Clean the Junks out of your computer & see if it helps
