Recommendation for HDD upgrade?

Currently looking to upgrade my HDD. Kits on ifixit.com recommend the Seagate line of HDD's - 500GB, 750GB, etc. However these drives have a very bad track record on Amazon.com, NewEgg.com, and respective product websites. Are there any other recommendations for a more reliable HDD and an optimal size for this model Macbook Pro?

Additionally, Western Digital's HDD have similar low reviews to SeaGate.

I have been using western digital scorpio black drives for a long time, in my personal machines as well..... their warranty/RMA is excellent..... and i haven't had a problem yet in the computers i own..... their blue line is good too if a higher performance drive isn't needed......

WD has a model line now with AF (advanced format) 4k sectors which allows for more storage space after formatting.... and OSX supports this......... not sure which reviews on newegg have been read, they get high marks and customer choice awards. Their Green desktop model line has less of a good rep. thats the only thing i could think of.

Seagate had some firmware problems in the past, and even thou i don't esp. like them, they have come back, esp with their hybrid drives with more flash memory as a buffer.

Hitachi makes some nice drives too.

forgot about size question, i would get a WD black or blue 500GB from their Advanced format model line....... my MBP of this type has a 250GB black drive. The black drives also have a 5 year warranty.

+ my standard replacement drives are the WD Scorpio Black 320 GB. I've never had an issue with them.
