Are you a gambler? Are you willing to take a risk?

Frankly, I wouldn’t do it until I had the display ID info. On the back of the panel you should find it does it match? If not, I think its to big a risk.

I know this thread is old but may find useful to others. I can confirm that YES the 2017 and 2019 4k models use the same panel and are interchangeable. I will also add that I know the 2015 4k and 2017 4k displays are compatible so it may even be possible to use the 2015 4k on the 2019 model.

@calebbaker - The older panel NITS brightness is less in the 2015 and 2017 displays, I wouldn't use it in either the 2017 or 2019 systems.

Sure, it may be slightly less bright but it is compatible. Same LCD panel, same control board, same LVDS connector and all.

@calebbaker - If its your system I can see that would be fine,

But, I've seen a few people here complain as they didn't know their display was swapped out with a less bright unit. So be upfront before you do the repair.

I don't think you should do this. You should know more about the details display screen. If everything is okay then go forward.
