cnjnew18 time to unplug it and to remove the back cover. Take a look at the power board for anything that looks odd, like charred or even missing. The popping noise can be pretty much from any component that experienced a catastrophic failure. Post some good pictures of your boards so we can help you identify what may have happened. Also, we need to know the exact model number for your TV. Adding images to an existing question
