Whys does the sound randomly stop working and the restart?
I have a Vizio E50u-D2. the sound will randomly shut-off for a few seconds and the magically start working again.

@davidaz Check all your inputs to see if it changes. Make sure that you try this while you are disconnected from any type of Network etc. If it is truly localized to your T sure that you try this while you are disconnected from any type of Network etc. If it is truly localized to your TV than it is most likely an issue with the audio IC’s on your main board. You can try a set of headphone and see if you have the issue with those as well. Sometimes this can also be caused by some conflict in the firmware. Check the user manual for your TV about validating and upgrading your firmware.
