turntable does not spin

There is a belt located under your record platter. That is the round aluminum piece that has the rubber mat on it. Remove the platter and check to see if the long rubber belt is still intact. If it is not, you need a new one. You should also see a brass gold colored shaft that sticks up. This is the motor shaft. When plugged in and turned on it on it should be spinning, You may have to place the arm over towards where the record would start to get it to spin. It it does not spin when turned on it is your motor and it need replaced. Chances are it is just the rubber belt.
