Samsung TV. Part of backlight not lighting.

Samsung UN50NU6900B

Hello,

Part of the backlight on the TV doesn't turn on. I have no idea if it is a power supply problem or a LED strip problem.

Thanks for any help!

@crazypancake use a multimeter and check the voltages on your powerboard leading to the LED’s. Compare it and see if they are equal (relative). If not you know it is your power board. This does look more like a bad LED strip then the power supply.

Ok I just got the back panel off. Do you know where the powerboard connects to the LEDs?

@crazypancake Connector CNL601 looks like the LED connector

Across 1+ and 1- I got 115V. Across 2+ and 2- I got 115V. Across 3+ and 3- I got 108V. Across 4+ and 4- I got 108V.

I'm not sure why 3 and 4 were lower, especially because only one of the LED strips doesn't turn on.

@crazypancake that is pretty consistent. Looks like the actual strip petered out. Of course you could check those with an LED tester, which may cost a bit but at least than your are sure about the LED strip having failed.

Ok, how do I find out what LED strips to buy? And what's a good place to buy them? I would assume just eBay but not sure. Thank you!
