2007 F250 4x4 5.4 manual transmission oil pan removal

How to remove oil pan on 2007 f250 4x4 5.4 manual transmission? I have raised the engine until the transmission is against the floor of the cab and unbolted the suction tube from oil pump. Can't get past the transmission with the pan.

Hi @beekay

Here’s a link to the Engine 5.4L (3V) section of the service repair manual for the vehicle.

Download the manual by clicking on the download icon at the top or bottom of the document page(to the right of the Zoom 100%), as this will make it easier to use.

Once you have the manual scroll to p.139/356 (pdf page numbering as the manual’s page numbering is too difficult) to find the IN-VEHICLE REPAIR Oil Pan section which describes how to remove the oil pan.

Here’s the link to the rest of the repair manual sections in case you need them as well.

Hopefully this is of some help.

Thanks jayeff! Great source of info! For all of you who may be thinking of removing the oil pan on manual transmission trucks, it will require removing transmission and flywheel. Auto trans models according to the manual do not require transmission removal. Thanks again jayeff!
