Got rainwater in MacBook Air leaving water stain on laptops screen

Good Afternoon Everyone,

About two days ago I was walking with my laptop in my bag and got caught in a storm. My Macbook Air got wet, but I wiped it off. I turned it on and everything seems to be working fine, except for a fairly large water stain that persists on the screen. I tried putting it in a bag of rice for a day followed by letting it hang a certain way to let the water drain off for two days but if anything, the stain got slightly larger. It turns on and types like normal so other than the stain, things still seem to be as normal.

There is nothing you can do to remove the stain, full top half replacement required.

Can I leave it as is? A replacement will likely be expensive and other than being an eyesore, it's not that big of a deal in my eyes.
