How can I repair my tv?

Hi ! So Last night I was just watching tv with my family , when a loud pop just came out from the back of the tv , and a little flash too , and the screen just went all black. I quickly unplugged the power from tv , waited a little until the tv was “ discharged “ and I uncovered the back of the tv , and this is what I saw —>

Hi,

What are we supposed to be looking at?

Are you referring to the white silicone paste that is under some components?

This is there to hold them in place and that they do not break due to vibrations.

The R413 resistor has a black spot on it which could just be dirt but otherwise everything in the image appears OK.

What is the model number of the TV?

Is the power standby LED on or off when power is connected to the TV?

by

just carefully desolder the resistor. Go to your local electronics shop. Get the same one (usually very cheap like $1). Repeat.

The power standby is not coming

@Hagan Cephas,

What is the model number of the TV?

Have you checked the power outlet that the TV is connected to is working OK?

Disconnect the power from the TV, remove the back cover from the TV and check for any obvious damage on the TV power board e.g. blown fuse, burnt out components etc.

What have you checked?

Yes if the R413 is damaged (can’t tell based on the photo) then you can desolder the two leads from the pads on the backside of the board and solder a replacement resistor with the identical markings.

Hey thanks a lot for this info , when I had time at work I was looking and looking and looking for certain answers and they all came back basically to the same thing , reboot unplug wait blah blah blah !so when I really had time I took the back off and almost walked away and something told me be patient and observe.low and behold found the r413 that looked like it had a minor explosion . So I’m gonna take your advice and see if I can’t make this repair on my own thanks again !
