iPad charging issue only with 18w adapter

So I have a very weird issue. All the sudden my iPad Pro started not charging it just charges a bit and stops on and off the icon just flickers. But in testing the charger I switched cables and bricks. It will charge fine with my MacBook charger, directly from my MacBook or from a usb a to c cable plugged into a hub. With an Apple or non Apple cable. However the issue occurs only when plugged into the Apple 18w brick that is included I have tried 3 different ones and all do it. Tried 3 cables and all do it. Try those same cables on the MacBook or the MacBook brick and they work just fine. What would cause only an 18w brick not to work?

Answer this question I have this problem too

My guess would be a damaged charging chip on the iPad. I haven't heard much on board-repairs on these so that's my best guess. It should technically still be in warranty? Unless you bought it in november / december.

Unfortunately I got it on day 1 so yes it’s out of warranty. I would think damaged chip too but it charges just fine with literally any other charger even the Samsung 18w brick that comes with a note and lower powered usb hubs from usb a to c

Now it’s no longer charging at all from the hub or my MacBook but the 61w MacBook brick is still detected. Also doesn’t show up on my computer when plugged in anymore.

I think iPads need the higher wattage to charge properly.

The 18w brick is the one that is included with the iPad. So why would it not work? Your answer doesn’t make sense.

My bad I misread what you said. If it charges fine with everything else its probably the brick thats got a problem then

by

Again you misread. I have tried 3 of the Apple bricks none of them work. They charge other devices such as my phone with a c to lightning just fine so the bricks are all working.
