Left column of the iPod touch is unresponsive.

I have replaced my LCD screen and reattached the entire front panel and reconnected every cable. But now when it works, the entire left column of apps on the left side will not respond. Everything else works, and the right side responds also to touch, but the 1st line of apps on the left side is unresponsive. Is it possible to fix this problem?

Benjamin Lee, I would recheck my work. Make sure all the connectors are properly attached. Also make sure that all hold down tabs etc. are engaged and that you do not have any dirt, debris or corrosion on the cable as well as the connector. Most of these errors are caused by a bad digitizer. If you can, replace your digitizer with a known good one to make sure that your digitizer is ok. Good Luck

I have installed a brand new digitizer that i have bought and now rechecking and made sure that all connectors are properly attached. I do not see any dirt or corrosion on the cable or the connecter and it seems that the ipod works perfectly fine besides the exception of the left side of the screen being nonresponsive. It still remains unresponsive.

I would try to exchange the digitizer. Usually when only a certain area of the touch panel does not work, it is a break in the digitizer circuit.

Well then i guess im going to have to spend more money on another digitizer :\

Ugh. I replaced the digitizer on a coworker's iPod over a year ago and didn't fully test it because the person started working someplace else and didn't come back to pick up her iPod. It sat unused the entire time and on the day I am supposed to give it back to her I find out that the left side of the screen doesn't work exactly as described. :(

&*#$. It's WAAAAY too late to contact the original part seller and, after this much waiting, waiting for replacement parts again seems ridiculous.
