Replacing 21.5" 2011 iMac Graphics card, need to remove Motherboard?

Hey!

I’ve got a 21.5’ mid 2011 iMac with a dead GPU. On the iFixit guide (iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 GPU Card Replacement) It says to remove the logic board, is this needed or can I just remove the GPU without removing the logic board as can be done on the 27” model. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lpa5B6bC... Skip to 20:00) Does anyone know if this can be done on the 21.5” version? As If it can it would save a lot of time and effort. Thanks.

Since it mounts on the back of the logic board you will at least have to pull it out far enough to access it.
