Spilled whiskey beside MacBook, a bit got into 3 side vents
I spilled a glass of whiskey beside my 2015 MacBook Pro 13” that was bought refurbished 3 days ago!
Can’t take the back off b/c it will void the warranty from macs4u (there is a sticker over one of the screws,) but have it tilted up on its side at an angle in an attempt to let any remaining fluid drain out.
Computer was not in the powered-on stage, but was on stand-by.
My wife does need this for her job, but don’t want to jeopardize the computer. If it matters, it was a 92 proof (46% alcohol) whiskey, and it was not a direct spill onto the keyboard in any way.
I have looked at images of that model opened up, and it seems like it should be ok, but I just wanted some advice on what to do!
Is this a good question?
It needs to be opened, the liquid damage dealt with properly and the sooner the better before corrosion really sets in.
