Best Parental Controls for Kids

Outside of Apples parental controls, are there better programs for managing parental controls for kids? I know there are several but I was hoping for some personal experience on this one.

I don’t personally use it but its gotten a good write up ContentBarrier Secure X9 It also logs what sites have been visited so you can at least review them later.
