Windows upgrade repeatedly appearing on screen

I keep receiving a note telling me that windows needs updating and will do so in so many minutes. I have done the updating countless times (mainly to stop the notice coming up repeatedly) but then a couple of days later, back it’s there again. It is sooo damned annoying. How can I stop it please?

Apparently that update is not being successfully installed. To check, go to: Settings/Windows Update/Update History.

It will report whether that update has been installed.

If an Error Code is reported, post it.

Sometimes these update problems miraculously solve themselves.

Try "Pause Updates" just to buy a little time and see what happens.

Good luck,

Russ

Hi Russ,

Okay I checked the windows updates. You were right, the updates hadn't been installed correctly. But apparently it had updated late yesterday pm. So I shouldn't get anymore update notices, but I just have this feeling that it's not over yet! LOL Pessimist, that's me! Thanks very much Russ.

There’s a good chance that the update did not complete correctly. Go to Windows Settings > Update and Security and click check for updates. (as per this article) See if it says something along the lines of “Update failed. Click to try again.” If it does, please reply with the error or error code provided. (list of common error codes here) Best of luck!
