hi rj713 the advice is for macbook pro, after reading though I think I could fix it in my imac if I knew how to get into it.

Of course when someone says "I've tried everything", your everything may be very different than a techs everything. When you hit the eject button on your keyboard are you getting any sounds? Is it a full sized disk in the machine? What are the last three figures of your serial number?

by

the last part of the serial no x85,yes it is a full size disc, when I hit the eject it makes the sound it usually makes, sounds like it's coming out, then the comp moves into front row

by

That serial didn't work. Look on the bottom of the stand.

by

model no A1224

Serial no ends X85

Ethernet ID ends FCF

you dont have to use pliers theres a tiny hole that releases it on the side use a needle and it will be free when powered down a thin piece of plastic and some two sided tape slide it out popsicle stick too thick give it a try theres some real thin two sided tape staples on sale spring might have got loose or you might have jamed two disk in on accident or lever over shot its stop point and now in limbo so use a disk on a stick should here the lever go back in place when done
