How much memory possible for my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo?

i need to upgrade the memory of my Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 24-Inch Identifiers: Mid-2007 - 24" - MA878LL - iMac7,1 - A1225 - 2134. currently i have 2x2GB RAM which doesn´t do anymore. I read somewhere that the max for this device is 6GB? So I can´t just buy 2x4GB bars (which would be great)??

Can anyone tell me what RAM(s) I need to buy and if 8GB is possible?

many thx in advance

The 4 GB sticks are all over. I did a search for Mac & 4GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM and got this: http://www.google.com/search?client=safa...
