Rear door handle replacement
Do I need to remove the cover for door to replace the broken door handle ?

Hi @sam77 ,
Yes you have to remove the door trim, the glass, the rear channel and the outside handle base to get to the outside door handle.
You don’t give the exact year model or the engine type but I’m assuming that the rear door handle removal procedure is the same for all 2005-2008 Kia Sportage, all engine types.
Here’s a link to the 2005-08 Kia Sportage repair manual Body (Interior and Exterior) section.
Click on the download pdf icon at the bottom of the document box (next to the zoom 100%) to download the file to make it easier to use.
Once you have the file open it and then scroll to p.72/139 in your .pdf viewer to find the procedures to remove/replace the outside door handle.
The door trim removal procedure starts on p.67/139 and the rest just follow on after that
It is simpler if you look at the manual with the pictures than if I describe how to do it.
