Trouble removing charge flex cable

Hi, i’m having a difficult time removing the charge flex cable that is soldered to the board. I’ve watched several videos but always end up ripping the pads off the flex cable when trying this on a couple broken ipod boards i have. I’ve tried using my cheap hot rework station set to 250c and also soldering iron and adding flux then using wick to remove the solder but still can never get the soldered pads to lift off the board without ripping.

Options

Is a delicate job, in my case i use only the soldering pen and a lot of tin. But even more easy I just change this part, or you can transfer it from the new one.
