How to solder a power button switch to a laptop motherboard

ok so i have a 2007 macbook motherboard im gonna use it with a portable monitor so one thing i dont have a power button and some ppl said to me to solder a switch/button on the motherboard but i dont know where to solder one but thanks i appricaite the help

For this model I believe the power on pads (marked with a power icon) are located below the fan:

You can just solder a basic button & two wires to those and you’re set.

ok i never did this before lol so where could i get wires and what color could i use wires from a phone charger so lol im just trying to understand this correctly ok so i need wires and a button and then i need to solder the wires to the motherboard and then to the button and im all set

I'm just thinking you get a [button like this](https://www.amazon.com/Twidec-Normal-Mom...) and attach each wire to a pad. A bit pricey, too bad RadioShack went out of business lol — you've gotta be careful though, make sure you don't short out anything else on the board, it's small stuff you're working with.
