Why is my mac getting really hot to the point its warning me

so while im using word the fan is in between 7000rpms and 9000rpms and while using powerpoint, keynote or just playing gta sa it warn me its too hot

Apple uses thermal paste that dries out in 2-3 years and goes bad at 4 years. If you have never repasted it or cleaned out the dust from the system, start there so you have a known troubleshooting point to backtrack to and can rule this out early. The thermal paste may even be dust with how the machine is behaving.

The guide for the fan can be found here and the heatsink guide can be found here. Try and find Artic MX-4 for this if you can as Artic Silver 5 doesn’t always cure right in laptops, but since this one isn’t difficult to try again on you may want to try Artic Silver 5 on this.
