MacBook Unibody Model A1342 Troubleshooting
My macbook boots up but when I try to log in the box goes away then comes right back asking me to log in again.

Insert your system installation disk and start up holding down the "C" key. Go to the second screen pull down menu, (while looking note the Reset Password line, you may need to go back there), go to Disk Utilities, select your hard drive in the left hand column and run the repair till it runs clear. Next run repair permissions. Restart and see if the problem is gone. If not go back and use the change password option.
