iPod Classic 5th parts on iPod Classic 6th or 7th
I was wondering today.
Can the parts of an IPod Classic 5th generation be used on an iPod Classic 6th or 7th?

@pfsrodrigues headphone jack/hold switch, hard drive cable, and hard drive are compatible. (30gb hard drive is compatible with the newer iPod, not the other way around.) The 5th and 6th/7th model use two different LCD screens. The ribbon cable and connectors are shifted slightly sideways and will not work. The clickwheel circuitry is different and can't be interchanged as well as the midframe that supports the LCD and logic board is different. So not a whole lot of parts that interchange.

I have a 6th gen clickwheel on my 5th gen and while it isn’t awesome… it totally functions to select music etc.
