AirDrop was implemented in Lion OSX, it's an application of the OS itself and has nothing to do with the Airport Card. Upgrading your Airport card will not provide this functionality. Sorry.

Update

This Site here mentions the card, and provides a link where to buy on eBay. My initial response was wrong, sorry for jumping the gun on that. ;) Now the question becomes if this can be installed in any mac, and what are the restrictions. Will look into this.

sorry majesty, but airdrop is hardware dependent to a card that supports dual SSID's.

I'm currently looking into this upgrade to my early macbook pro. from a teardown I've done I have three antennas, but only two connected/supported on my current airport card.

you can upgrade your iMac to a pick/port compatible solution for airdrop,

here is a forum post on the subject: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiver...

here is the card I'm going with: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_t...

Thanks for the correction Steven. I have just bumped into a site that sells these cards and apparently it's is also dependent on the Card. +1
