drdorazio85  you will have to remove the outside cover by removing the screws (41) from it. Then you can see where the door lock latches into. Use a pair of pliers etc. to open it. Make sure that your MW is unplugged and don’t touch anything on the inside of it. Yet.

When you say remove the outside cover, do you mean the trim around the microwave door? I've been trying to remove that, but I can't see any screws holding it in place.

drdorazio85 the metal cover which should have the screws in the back. Kind of like disassembling the MW

There doesn't seem to be enough room to get to the screws underneath the trim

panel at the top.

I was hoping taking the button off (the spring is now reglued to the back of the button) would expose something that I could push to get the microwave door open. Then I could get to the screws. Any tricks to opening the door when the button isn't working?

Hi, oldturkey03, I had to break the plastic door latch to get the door open. Now I have the trim panel off and am working to get to the button mechanism so I can see what is broken. Hopefully, I can order parts and get this fixed! Thanks for your help!
