The new LCD won't work?

My Itouch's backlight on the lcd was bad so decided to replace the LCD with a new one. Got one and put it in. Now the new LCD won't work at all. Relooked at all connections and everything is correctly connected. iTunes recognized the iTouch, but I can see nothing even when it is on and charging. did I do something wrong or is it a bad LCD?

Thanks guys for your help. The hard reset did the trick. There is a small burned looking place on the logic board. I believe that is why the backlight wont work even after cleaning the conection. Can I find a logic board?

Have you tried a hard reset? Sometime after LCD repair you will need to hard reset the ipod by holding the power button and home button until the device restarts. Its best to do it while connected to itunes because you'll know the ipod has restarted when it disappears from the devices menu in itunes.

thank you so much. The hard reset did in fact turn on the iTouch, but as my comment above says, the backlight still does not work. There is a small burned looking spot on the logic board.

The logic board will be extremely difficult to find and very expensive if you do. Financially you will be much better off to sell yours as is on eBay and just buy a new one.

I just wonder if it is a backlight coil or IC that has burned out....any way you could post s picture?

Can't take a pic since it is all back together. I'm not too worried about it since the iTouch works great except the screen has no back light.

Try cleaning the LCD socket on the logic board with distilled water and isopropyl alcohol. In my experience, no backlight was solved by carefully cleaning debris and corrosion.
