What hard drive to get

Hi there,

Someone gave me an imac “iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.8 24-Inch (Early 2008)” according to the serial number. I tried turning it on and it comes up with a flashing file folder. I’ve tried all the different suggested fixes, so I’m thinking I’ll need to replace the hard drive? if so which hard drive will be compatible with it?

thanks

C

A standard SATA 3.5” hard drive will work but if you would also like to increase the speed you can go with an SSD upgrade:
