Can I upgrade my 12 gb ram?

I don’t know if it is possible to upgrade the ram and if so how do I do it. Also what type of ram is best to get for the price to improve my system

Unfortunately, the ram is soldered onto the motherboard which makes it incredibly difficult to remove and replace and makes it not repair friendly.

Had a look at the HMM - it has the telltale memory shield without DIMM slots. I'm honestly not surprised with how thin it is.

These kinds of sort of deceptive systems is why I've mostly shifted towards standardizing on business class hardware on the PC side. It's thin enough to fool a end user, but not someone who knows to check if the chassis is too thin. It's bad enough I will even condemn something like a 8/16GB soldered+DIMM slot configuration at this point - ALL of it is modular or that model is on the soldered RAM blacklist.

To compliment @mayer’s answer, this is how I immediately knew. Along with the chassis being suspiciously thin, the EMI shield over the CPU and heatsink is where the RAM is. In addition, the second red flag was a lack of DIMM module removal section in the HMM.
