Lost S/N after replacing the battery

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Air

I just swapped out the battery and updated to High Sierra and upon checking specs AFTER that I noticed serial # unavailable.

Which version of the Blank Board Serializer do I need to run?

The Blank Board burner won’t help you. Once the board is set with a S/N you can’t alter it. Just like an egg you can’t break the shell twice ;-}

Lets first reset NVRAM Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

You may need to re-install the OS as well for the firmware updater to fresh things.

but there IS NO SERIAL NUMBER - i'm not trying to alter it, i'm trying to ADD ONE :)

Replacing the battery won't erase or alter the systems S/N.

Did you reset NVRAM?
