remove hard drive from G3

I want to recycle my old computer but first I need to remove the hard drive!

I have an IMAC G3 all in one desk top. Assembled in USA. Family number M4984.

It does not have a stand nor an EMC number. It was purchased in 1998 and ran like a charm for nine years.

This thing has either a 4 or 6 GIG hard drive. What do you plan to do with it? Here's an 8 GB flash drive for $9.99: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+Attach...

I wonder if the Hard drive needs to be removed to ensure no operating system or personal files get to the recycle place. Actually pretty smart considering what people will do with all of your personal info you did not know was on your computer ;-)
