Display cloudy after cleaning frame with alcohol

Hey,

I replaced the battery in this iPhone 6s and before putting it back together I cleaned the frame of the display with Isopropyl alcohol 99.9%. I thought the alcohol can’t damage the display so I wasn’t all that careful. I used cotton swabs I dipped in alcohol and rubbed the frame around the display firmly. I also pressed a little on the side of the display itself. Could this be the reason for the cloudy display or did I make some other mistake? I did this repair yesterday and it seems that the damage is slowly getting better.

I’m probably going to replace the display but I want to avoid doing the same mistake again so thats why I’d like to know what I did wrong. Thanks in advance for your help.

Edit: I did this to get rid of the glue residue.

Yeah so any liquid damages the display. Your best bet is just getting a new display.
