The screen won't come on.
Last night I was using the tv when the screen went a bit funny. The programme was still visible but it was kind of flickering so I tried turning it off and on again. I couldn't turn it back on after that. Ive tried switching it off at the plug but the only thing that happens is the standby button will come on and only a remote can turn the TV on, but nothing is displayed. I've also tried to reset the TV by unplugging the power cable and holding the power button as suggested on other post. The only other thing I can think relevant is I connected a universal remote to it a couple of days ago.

Turn on the TV and then shine a flashlight (or torch depending where you live) at an angle to the screen and do a visual observation for any signs of video playing in the background. If you can see video movement (like a tv show) while doing this procedure, it means , what is known as the backlight, for the TV is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced or repaired. Have you checked if there are any updates to your TV? maybe the whole problem is this

@rerajj Any idea how the OP can check or apply updates with a TV screen not even turning on ?
