Teresa Brandon it is easily possible that the partition with the recovery files has been deleted. The only way to make that determination is by trying a Live CD (something like puppy linux) and check the files on your hard drive. If it is gone you will need to get a copy of whatever OS your computer had.

Yes, that seems like recovery partition is either deleted, either corrupted.
Try to boot from CD or try third-party recovery software like Diskinternals Partition Recovery.
